Product Design Shift
Made a deliberate move into product design, taking on freelance and contract roles with early-stage startups across Africa — spanning EdTech, Crypto, NGO platforms, and digital services. Helped founders validate ideas quickly through MVP design, design systems, and usability-focused workflows, which sharpened my understanding of how products are actually built and used, not just how they look.
2023
Software Engineering
Running alongside all of the above, a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering at African Leadership University, Kigali, with a 4.75/5.00 GPA. Coursework spanning React, advanced backend development, DevOps, databases, and systems infrastructure gives a technical fluency that directly shapes how I design — building with implementation and scalability in mind, not just aesthetics.
2024
Enterprise & Fintech Product
Led design on Consumatech’s Inhlanyelo eFranchise Platform for UNISA — delivering 10+ customised eFranchise websites, booking systems, and a comprehensive admin dashboard. Simultaneously joined Zidify in Kigali as Founding Product Designer, building a fintech savings platform for Rwanda’s youth from scratch — design system, onboarding, activation, and product strategy alongside the founders.
2025
AI-Native Product Design
As AI Product and Automation Designer at a stealth legaltech startup in Dubai, designed product workflows informed by behavioral analytics and AI-assisted systems, working across PostHog, Langfuse, and operational tooling to improve activation, feature adoption, and decision-making. The clearest expression yet of where the practice was heading — products that are intelligently instrumented and continuously improving, not just well-designed.
